Nike reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3. You still get the same reliability, just without any unnecessary thickness.
- What's New About the Vaporfly 4? Nike took a race-car approach when updating the Vaporfly 4, making many minor tweaks so you can pursue major gains. They trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper without sacrificing performance.
